What is the Five Rivers Area?
The “Five Rivers Area” is a geographical area of Western Middle Tennessee that is known for its five main rivers. They are the Tennessee, Cumberland, Harpeth, Buffalo, and Duck Rivers. The Five Rivers Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council chose its name for the area because of these rivers. The mission of the Five Rivers RC&D Council is to promote activities that will enhance the quality of life, conserve natural resources, and promote economic development in the Five Rivers Area.
